The 34-year-old former Middlesbrough, Celtic and Atletico Madrid playmaker, who was recently close to moving to Championship outfit Hull City, is expected to arrive in Australia on Friday to complete the deal.

"The club hasn't told us anything official, but if he is coming it's great news," said Corica.

"He is obviously a quality player and a player people will come to watch.

"He doesn't have the same profile Dwight had off the field, but he has played for Brazil and at the highest level in England so he'd be a drawcard for sure.

"It would be great to be able to play with someone like him."
