FOURFOURTWO magazine is out now featuring loads of Aussie content including Socceroo Robbie Cornthwaite from Korea reflecting on the fast-paced K-League.
Cornthwaite described the K-League as an extremely attacking league that’s often played at breakneck speed.
“The games are very, very open,” he said. “The K-League is 100 miles an hour played at one speed. The players are technically gifted but the game’s played at such a high pace that sometimes it does become a bit scrappy. They are under constant pressure," he said.
“Compared to the J-League, that is more technical and tactical but I’d say the K-League is the second strongest league in Asia with some fantastic players. A lot play in the South Korean national team which shows you how strong it is.
“And here, the foreign players do actually make a difference to the league.”
Bur Cornthwaite keeps a very close eye on the A-League. And he's become a big fan of the B-League segment on Fox Sports.
“Being in Korea, I’m usually home when the A-League games are on because it’s only a two-hour time difference. Hooking up on the Internet watching the Fox Sports coverage I’m fortunate and try to watch as many games as possible – though my missus doesn’t enjoy watching five games of A-League on the weekend,” he said with a chuckle.
A-League and Socceroo content sit side-by-side with the best reading from around the planet in FourFourTwo Australia magazine, out now.
