Australian defender Curtis Good’s proposed move to Notts County appears unlikely with boss Kevin Nolan playing it down.
Good, 24, has only played two games for Newcastle since joining the Magpies in 2012 and has one year remaining on his contract.
The one-time Socceroo has been plagued by injuries but managed a full season in 2016-17 with Newcastle’s reserves and played once in the League Cup.
FourFourTwo reported this week that Newcastle may be willing to let him go, with League Two club Notts County interested in a loan deal.
However, ex-Newcastle man Nolan distanced himself from the link.
"It's the first I've heard of it," Nolan said.
"There will have been a list of names and he is one that will have come up.
"But at the minute, no.
"He will have been on the radar though as we have left no stone unturned in terms of players who we have looked at."
Good previously had loan spells at Bradford City and Dundee United before a hip injury sustained in his sole Socceroos appearance thwarted his progress in 2014.
