Wanderers took 35 of their 46 points at the Reebok Stadium in 2010-11, emerging from their 19 Barclays Premier League fixtures there with 10 wins and only being beaten four times.

This term it has been a different story, with last weekend's 2-0 defeat to Sunderland meaning the Trotters have now lost all five of their league home games to date.

The change has been painful for Coyle to see but the 45-year-old is confident the problem will be addressed, and at the same time encouraged by how Bolton have been faring on the road.

The team gave a creditable display at the Emirates Stadium in Tuesday night's 2-1 Carling Cup fourth round defeat to Arsenal, won 2-0 at Aston Villa in the previous round and have triumphed 3-1 at Wigan and 4-0 at QPR in the league - reason for Coyle to feel optimistic ahead of Saturday's trip to Swansea.

"The galling thing is that we had an unbelievable home record last season and we've not managed to replicate that," Coyle said.

"We will get back to that, but first and foremost, we go to Swansea.

"Everybody wants to be at home because it is an advantage, but we've shown away from home this season that we are more than capable of winning games, picking up results and giving big performances, and that is what we have to do.

"We have to show the same quality that we did at QPR, at Wigan, at Aston Villa in the cup and at Arsenal the other night - the result went against us, but there were some terrific performances within that.

"If we can do that, we know it is a game that we can win."

Bolton's on-loan defender Dedryck Boyata was ineligible for the Arsenal game but has also been nursing an ankle problem that he picked up in the match against Sunderland.

Coyle had hoped to have the Belgian youngster available again for Saturday but Boyata has not trained and is currently regarded as a "major doubt" for the Liberty Stadium clash by his manager.

Coyle said: "At this moment in time he has not been able to do any training and he would need to be training by Friday to have any chance.

"So at this point he looks a major doubt. He tweaked his ankle and had to come off. It has got better but there is still discomfort there."

Boyata's fellow defender Marcos Alonso has been sidelined as well due to a foot injury which has kept him out of action since August.

The Spaniard's recovery is progressing well but he is still some way from a first-team return.

"He played in a behind-closed-doors game for 70 minutes the other day against Blackpool and he came through that okay," Coyle said.

"What we will do now is step up his training and try to get some more reserve games under his belt so that he is back up to speed, because of the demands of the Premier League.

"He will still be a couple of weeks away in terms of that, but it is good that he is on the way back now."
