Verbeek has named a Socceroo train-on squad which included a number of first time national team players.

“Pim knows Craig very well. I'm sure if Craig was called upon he'd be willing to help out," says the source.

"Craig's not talking at the moment but if and when that times comes to make any announcement on his future, he will make it in his own time.

“Nothing has changed in terms of the player's plans regarding the national team."

Verbeek will run the rule over Queensland Roar this weekend when they entertain Melbourne Victory. Moore, however, will be suspended for this clash.

The former Glasgow Rangers and Newcastle United Premiership player, speaking with FourFourTwo magazine recently, said he was still mulling over whether to continue his impressive national team career.

“Realistically, you need to have come off the back of a big season of European football at the elite level," he said.

"It's just one of those things I'm thinking about and my gut feeling at the moment is no matter who comes in, I'll not look to be a part of that.

“I'm not somebody who wants to play a bit part. I believe I'm still good enough just now, but being back in Australia, a long off-season. I do believe you need to be playing at the highest possible level to translate that into the international scene.”

“I'd rather be in a position where I walked away sort of like on my own terms rather than somebody tapping me on the shoulder. I just feel it's not 100% at the moment but the memories I have from the 2006 World Cup are going to be very hard to repeat."
