While City's players have been enjoying some warm weather training in Tenerife, their club has appeared to go into meltdown.

The big-money signings of Craig Bellamy and Nigel de Jong have been completely overshadowed by the failed bid for Brazilian superstar Kaka and Robinho's unscheduled return to South America.

But Dunne, who is about to begin a four-match ban himself following his dismissal against Wigan last Saturday, does not feel the adverse publicity will have an adverse effect on the Blues.

"Because everything has gone crazy outside the camp it has pulled us all together," the Republic of Ireland star told the Manchester Evening News.

"We still have jobs to do and a big game to prepare for against Newcastle on Wednesday and that is what we are doing."

Robinho is expected to return to the UK this weekend and start against the Magpies as City look to extend their current three-match unbeaten run.

Hughes has already stated his intention to speak with the 24-year-old and a large fine seems likely.

The City players will have their say too. But Dunne does not feel Robinho will have much to worry about from them as long as he can take a joke.

"We understand he will be back in Manchester at the weekend and we all look forward to seeing him because we all know what a good player he is," said Dunne.

"The manager has dealt with the matter although I am sure Robinho will get some stick from the lads when he comes back.

"But he has said he has had his own personal issues so he has to sort them out. Every player is different."
