Hernan Crespo maintains his Internazionale side must look forward and not worry about second-placed Roma in the title race.
The Argentinian says Inter have lost their best form since their Champions League exit to Liverpool in March, but can recover for the seven-game season run-in.
"It is likely we are not so brilliant and polished as some time ago, but it happens to all teams," he said on Gazzetta dello Sport.
"Roma, they are the closest. But Roma also have enemies because they are looking forward, and they must be careful too.
"As for us, we must think only of ourselves.
"It's like with cyclists because we must look forward because if we look behind we'll get overtaken.
"Unfortunately we are going through a very delicate period, we were a little shaken having gone out of the Champions League but now we are thinking, game by game, over time we can prepare for the return of the Inter of old."
The 32-year-old has not been a first team regular since his loan move from Chelsea, making only 10 league starts under Roberto Mancini this season.
"My age is not a problem, I continue to train and I don't see people outpacing me," Crespo said.
"Maybe I have played less than I would like, but that kind of thing is normal.
"As I was picked often last year, this year the coach chooses me less often."
