PETER Crouch could miss England's opening European Championship qualifiers after suffering a rib injury in Tottenham's Barclays Premier League defeat by Wigan today.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp fears the 29-year-old may have broken a bone, which would rule him out of Friday's match against Bulgaria and the game in Switzerland four days later.
Crouch, who had been tipped to earn a recall to Fabio Capello's squad when it is named tomorrow following his midweek Champions League hat-trick, was withdrawn at half-time of this afternoon's 1-0 loss at White Hart Lane.

Redknapp said: "I think he might have done a rib; he was in agony at half-time.
"He's not sure if he's broken a rib or what he did but he was in pain."
Asked if the injury would mean Crouch will miss England's games, Redknapp added: "If he's broken a rib, he will."
