The defeat in the top-of-table clash allowed Tianjin Teda to leapfrog Shanghai after they edged Henan Jianye 1-0 at Zhengzhou Hanghai Stadium.

Shandong had already wrapped up the league title with two games to spare but did not go easy on Shanghai and took the lead in the 21st minute when Carlos Santos slotted home following a goalmouth scramble.

Zhou Haibin doubled the advantage for the home side 17 minutes later but Shanghai halved the deficit just before the break when Duvier Riascos converted a penalty.

Han increased Shandong's lead in the 52nd minute but Yu Tao's 35-yard strike four minutes later again pulled Shanghai to within one goal of their opponents.

The goals continued to come as Han restored Shandong's two-goal advantage with his side's fourth just before the hour and Li Wei wrapped up the scoring when he collected a pass from Yuan before side-stepping Qiu Tianyi to power the ball into the net.

"I am happy that we concluded this season with a convincing victory," said Shandong coach Branko Ivankovic. "We won't be satisfied with the triumph in the domestic league. Shandong will look to at least qualify for the knockout phase in the coming Asian Champions League."

The eastern Chinese side won their fourth domestic title with 63 points, an impressive 13-point lead over second-placed Tianjin.

Shanghai finished third with 48 points, two points adrift of Tianjin after they earned maximum points in a clash with Henan.

Zhang Xiaobin scored the only goal of the game midway through the second-half, slotting home a loose ball at the second attempt after Henan keeper Zhou Yajun parried out Li Benjian's close-range shot.

Shandong, Tianjin and Shanghai all qualify for next year's Asian Champions League along with Hangzhou Lucheng, who edged Qingdao Zhongneng thanks to Wu Wei's second-half goal.

Ryan Griffiths struck with 19 minutes remaining as Beijing Guoan beat Jiangsu Shuntian 1-0 while a Martin Kamburov brace was not enough to prevent Dalian Shide slumping to a 3-2 defeat to Changchun Yatai. Milos Mihajlov, Dong Wang and Eder Steer got the goals for Changchun.

New Zealand international Chris Killen scored a brace as Shenzhen Kingway played out a thrilling 4-4 draw with Liaoning.

Yuan Lin opened the scoring in the fourth minute for Shenzhen and though Xu Yang equalised 17 minutes later, Killen's first of the game soon after restored the lead for the hosts.

Yu Hanchao again pulled Liaoning level a minute before the break and Yang's second in the 45th minute gave them the lead for the first time.

A Yuan Lin own goal just before the hour looked to have put Liaoning firmly on course for victory but late strikes from Killen and Aleksander Zivkovic earned Shenzhen a draw.

Jose Duarte scored twice to cancel out goals from Liu Jiangqing and Wang Yun as Chongqing Lifan drew 2-2 at Shanxi Zhongxin while Nanchang Bayi and Changsha Jinde drew 0-0.
