THE scheduled Eredivisie clash between FC Twente and PSV Eindhoven has been delayed by 24 hours because of an unfit pitch at the Grolsch Veste.
Twente officials had hoped to instal a new pitch today. But poor weather meant that was not possible, and the fresh turf is now scheduled to be put down tomorrow.
Twente will host PSV at 4.30pm local time on Sunday.
"After deliberation between FC Twente, KNVB, PSV, the supplier of the new pitch and the local authorities, the decision has been taken to play the match a day later," read a Twente statement.
"FC Twente's pitch was, because of many home games in a short period combined with bad weather, no longer playable.
"That is why FC Twente needed to change the pitch in the Grolsch Veste."
