FORMER Newcastle Jets defender Adam D’Apuzzo will start a one week trial with the Sky Blues this week which will include Wednesday night’s trial match at Rockdale.
The versatile 24-year-old had been a regular on the left side of the Jets defence this season but was part of a major shake-up at the Hunter club following last season’s campaign.
D’Apuzzo is a former Olyroo who made six appearances in the 2009 Asian Champions League for the Jets and over 100 in the A-League.
Meanwhile the Asian Football Confederation has confirmed Sydney will host Japan’s Kashima Antlers at Sydney Football Stadium on Wednesday April 13, kick-off 8pm.
The Sky Blues were originally scheduled to play the Antlers in Kashima on Wednesday March 16 but the match was postponed following the devastating earthquake and tsunami.
The AFC also confirmed Sydney FC will head to Japan to take on the Antlers in Tokyo on Tuesday May 10 at Tokyo National Stadium.
Sydney FC’s next Champions League match is on Wednesday April 6 against Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua at Sydney Football Stadium, kick-off 8pm kick-off.
