Valencia coach Quique Sanchez Flores admitted his team had looked lacklustre in Saturday's 2-0 home defeat at the hands of Racing Santander, a result that has damaged their challenge for the Primera Liga title.
"We never looked comfortable at any point of the game," was Sanchez Flores' stark assessment after the match.
"They (Racing) became increasingly dominant as the game went on and they made it pay with goals."
Sanchez Flores was disappointed at the attitude of his team against Racing.
"We need to show more emotion when we play," said the Valencia coach. "We knew that they would sit back and let us have the ball but we did not manage to achieve much with the possession we did have."
Symptomatic of his club's plight is striker David Villa who has not scored in 602 minutes.
Pedro Munitis and Lozano Oriol scored the goals for Racing to leave Los Che six points behind champions and Primera League leaders Barcelona.
Defender Asier Del Horno admits the club's next Liga match at home to Espanyol is crucial to his team's title hopes.
"We have to put ourselves back in the race for the title in our next game," he said.
