FFA has confirmed Lisa De Vanna has been withdrawn from the Matildas squad for the match against New Zealand today following a breach of team rules as set out in the National Code of Conduct.
De Vanna will return to her WPS club magicJack in the USA immediately.
Westfield Matildas Head Coach Tom Sermanni: “Unfortunately Lisa couldn’t adhere to some of the team’s non-negotiable behaviour parameters and we have had to make a decision for the benefit of the entire squad.”
The Matildas will compete in the Women's World Cup in Germany next month.
On Friday they defeated New Zealand 3-0 in a warm-up and the face the Football Ferns again on Sunday in preparation for the World Cup.
