De Vanna scored a first half brace in the Sky Blues' 3-0 W-League victory over Canberra United at Allianz Stadium.

But it was when she raced towards the United bench and faced off against Canberra coach Garriock that tensions rose..

The 33-year-old goal hero, with arms folded, had a grin on her face but it's unlikely that Garriock saw the funny side.

Despite being good mates, Matildas assistant coach Gary van Egmond said it could take some time for the United boss to shrug off the incident.

"Pretty sure that Lisa’s going to have to make a couple of phone calls there," van Egmond told Fox Sports post-match. "It’s going to be a little bit of a difficult one for her.

"Heather won’t appreciate it but hopefully in time Heather may see the funny side of it. But that might take some time."

Fox Sports presenter Adam Peacock said he didn't see a quick reconciliation "given the advice (Garriock) was giving Lisa" at the time.

"We won’t repeat what she said, it’s not for this hour of the day."

It was Sydney's fourth straight win, and after a slow start to the season the harbour-siders have surged to second on the ladder. Canberra drop to sixth.
