EXCLUSIVE: Australia won’t know until at least this Friday if former Brazilian World Cup star Denilson will play in the A-League next season.
With the April 21 public holiday in Brazil, communication with Denilson's Brazilian representative and brother Denis has been difficult.
However, au.fourfourtwo.com understands the player is considering his position regarding an offer from an A-League club - thought to be Perth Glory - to play seven guest games as of next season.
Local representatives of Denilson remain hopeful the former Real Betis player 31, who played in the 2002 World Cup for Brazil, will be on Aussie soil in the next few months.
The left winger has had stints at Real Betis and Bordeaux, and most recently at Palmeiras where he is on a pay-as-you-play contract.
The new A-League season kicks off on August 6. Perth Glory kick off their season on Friday August 7 at Hindmarsh stadium against last season's A-League runner-up Adelaide United.
