AUSSIES ABROAD: Defender Luke DeVere got on the scoresheet as Gyeongnam FC destroyed Daejeon Citizen 7-1 in Korea's K-League on Saturday.
Ex-Brisbane Roar man DeVere, who has been a regular at the back this season for Gyeongnam, netted his side's fifth goal in the emphatic win.
First-half goals from Yoon Bit-Garam and Park Chang-Heon and a double from Hun Lee had Gyeongnam enjoyed a four-goal buffer at the break, before DeVere got in on the act in the 57th minute.
The Australian defender, who played a full game in the victory, headed in from a Yoon Bit-Garam corner through the Daejeon keeper's legs.
Elsewhere in Korea, Iain Fyfe put in a full shift at the back as Busan I'Park made it four consecutive wins with a 2-1 victory at Sangju Sangmu.
Meanwhile, Socceroo Sasa Ognenovski was absent due to suspension as Seongnam Ilhwa drew 2-2 with Jeju United.
In Japan's J.League, Alex Brosque and Eddy Bosnar both played full games as Shimizu S-Pulse defeated Albirex Niigata on Saturday.
Over to Europe, in Switzerland's Super League, Scott Chipperfield was absent injured as FC Basel started the season with a 1-1 draw at Young Boys.
