After seeing his side finish in 17th position in the Premier League, the Italian plans to make several changes to freshen things up at the Stadium of Light during the close-season.

But a complete overhaul is not on the cards, as Di Canio believes there is plenty of talent already at his disposal as he looks for a better campaign in 2013-14.
"It is clear that we have to bring in players over the summer - half-a-dozen, maybe more," Di Canio told the Shields Gazette.

"We finished near the relegation zone, and so it is obvious that we need to make changes to make sure that we are not in this situation next season.
"But at the same time we already have some quality players here, and I want them to stay. I want to build something here at Sunderland, and take the club forward - that is my mission.
"So the last thing I want to do is to let any of our quality players leave."
One such player Di Canio will look to keep at the Stadium of Light is goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
The Beligian stopper produced a string of impressive displays during the 2012-13 season and is set to be offered a new contract as he has just two years left on his current deal.
"Simon is a top-class goalkeeper. He's very important to us," Di Canio added.
