Di Matteo has been placed in temporary charge until the end of the season, but has an outstanding record.

Chelsea have only lost once in 15 games since his appointment and he has overseen their run to the finals of the Champions League and FA Cup.

Di Matteo also described outgoing Barcelona head coach Pep Guardiola as a 'role model' to all young coaches, just days after his side knocked Barcelona out of the Champions League.

"Like I was six weeks ago I am very relaxed. (My future) is irrelevant at this point of the season," Di Matteo said.

"What is important is the spirit of the players and the squad is good. We are feeling positive and we just have to try keep this momentum going until the end of the season.

"Nothing has changed from my point of view. I'm still very happy to get this club to the end of the season and this club will make a decision on what is the best way forward.

"Pep Guardiola knows what he's doing, he's a fantastic person. He's had such tremendous success he's decided what is best for himself, his career and his family.

"He's a role model as a coach for every young manager, what he has achieved in such a short period of time, I'm not sure anyone else could replicate that.

"The FA have made a decision (on the handshakes) and we will respect that and just get on with it.

"It's a shame that players from both teams will miss the final, I think everyone in football would have liked to have seen both teams with all their players available to play this game.

"Our priority is QPR, we need to try our best. It's going to be a tough game as they are fighting against relegation and we know how hard it is to play against teams that are fighting against the drop. We played Wigan only a short while ago and it was very tough."
