Kerr had a cluster of cances to get onto the scoresheet but to no avail in Perth’s 2-0 win over Melbourne Victory on Sunday.

DiBernardo scored a screamer in the second half to seal the win and said she was looking forward to next week’s match against Sydney FC, with Kerr providing inside information on fellow Matildas – Caitlin Foord, Kyah Simon and Alanna Kennedy - who all line-up for the Sky Blues..

“We have Sam on our team so she can give us a bit of information about other players, so it’s nice to have a scout on our own team," DiBernardo said.

“She’s had some great opportunities to score, she’s the type of player that it’s really only her being able to get those types of opportunities because she creates them all for herself.

“Unlucky the goalie (Beth Mason-Jones) made some great saves from some of her shots, but she’ll get one. She’s a lot of fun, adds so much personality to our team and is a great player.

“It just makes your job easier as a player to have such a dangerous person up top on your team and she can create so much… she creates 90 per cent of her opportunities no other player can do.”

DiBernardo is one of eight NWSL side Chicago Red Stars players currently playing in the W-League and enters her second season in Australia’s competition.

The 24-year-old is in her second season with Perth Glory enjoying the experience Down Under.

“It’s fun, I think because I had such a good experience in the W-League, people ask me and I encourage them to keep playing,” she said.

“I think a lot of players from home wanted to play during the offseason and this is a great opportunity so they reached out.

“It’s great, you can always just train in your offseason but it’s completely different actually playing games and that’s what I realised last year.

“I was going back to our season back home knowing I had game fitness in my training and that allowed me to go through pre-season and worry about other things rather than my fitness

“Sam (Victory defender Sam Johnson) played two years ago in the W-League and she had a good experience, it’s great to see all our teammates when we travel and play for different teams against each other.”
