AC Milan captain Paolo Maldini is standing firmly behind heavily criticised team-mate Dida.
The Brazilian goalkeeper is waiting to see if he is to be punished by UEFA for play-acting in Milan's 2-1 defeat at Celtic last week after a fan ran onto the pitch.
But Maldini says there is no question as to the status of Dida in the Rossoneri squad.
"I believe he has made a mistake and is aware of this," said Maldini on the club's official website, www.acmilan.com.
"However, our confidence in him has not changed. He remains a great goalkeeper and he is our first choice and will continue to be until the end of his contract."
