SPAIN coach Vicente Del Bosque insists the door to the World Cup is not closed but admits the squad he takes to South Africa will be similar to the 23-man list he has named to face France.
Del Bosque sparked speculation he had decided on his World Cup squad when he read out 23 names - the same number he will take to the tournament - by memory today for Wednesday's friendly in Paris.
However, the Spain boss claims at least a couple of places are still up for grabs.
"The list for the World Cup is not closed," said Del Bosque.
"This is only for the game against France. I don't think that saying it by memory means that it will be this.
"It will be fairly similar, the group of players who go to South Africa will have much to do with this group but there are people who have been left out who are in everyone's mind.
"Players such as (Santi) Cazorla or (Andres) Palop have the chance to come in."
Del Bosque did admit however that the three goalkeepers named in today's squad - Iker Casillas, Jose Reina and Diego Lopez - are, barring injuries, set to be the trio in South Africa.
Fit-again Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has been included in the squad, something which will irk club manager Rafael Benitez as the forward has only just returned from injury.
Del Bosque insists he has had no falling-out with the Liverpool boss.
"I have not talked to Benitez," he added.
"But we work together with all the coaches with respect to players who have any physical problem.
"We don't have any problem with Rafa nor with any other coach.
"We don't bring in players who aren't fit.
"The recovery of both players (Torres and Xavi) has gone well following their respective injuries and they are here because we believe they are fine, in any case we are aware that it might be necessary to manage their playing time."
Jesus Navas has again been included after making his debut in Spain's 2-1 victory over Argentina in November, coming on for the final eight minutes of the friendly.
The Sevilla winger has long been considered one of Spanish football's most promising players but had never played for the senior national side before, mainly due to anxiety and panic attacks when away from home for extended periods.
However, the 23-year-old has worked on coping with those issues and will now be hoping for more playing time as he aims to stake his claim for a place in the World Cup squad.
Del Bosque said: "Jesus Navas is here because we have the best estimation of him; he is a player who brings different things."
