Djite has made an impressive start to life in Turkey with a flurry of pre-season goals for Genclerbirligi.

Overlooked by Graham Arnold for the Olympics, Djite earned a late call to join the Socceroos squad for the South Africa friendly in London tomorrow morning.

He told the Adelaide Advertiser that missing out on the Olympics had not left him disheartened.

He said: "I'm head strong. I know I'm a fringe Socceroo but if I can continue to plug away perhaps the rewards will keep coming."

Djite was one of several last-minute call-ups with Mark Milligan, David Carney, Matthew Spiranovic and Richard Garcia also receiving the call from Verbeek.
