EXCLUSIVE: Bruce Djite is tipped to become an Australian footballing legend who will enjoy the same hero status as Harry Kewell.
The striker's former Adelaide United captain Ross Aloisi sees the youngster rapidly becoming the focus of his country's attack.
Aloisi believes Pim Verbeek should have no hesitation in starting Djite against Qatar this weekend and feels the national coach should build his future attack around the youngster.
He told au.fourfourtwo.com today: "The improvement in Bruce in the last eight or nine months has been absolutely incredible.
"I would start him against Qatar, no question, and he is only going to get better with the more international football he plays.
"For me, there are still a few question marks about some of the other strikers in the squad like Josh Kennedy and Scott McDonald but Bruce has so many different qualities to his game.
"I remember speaking to him just before his international debut for the Socceroos. I told him that I had no doubt he would be the main man for Australia in the next four years.
"It turns out I was wrong. I think he will be the main man in just two years."
He added: "He's quick, he's strong, he holds the ball up well and he's an intelligent lad.
"He will benefit from his spell in Turkey. I think that could be a stepping stone for a move to England down the track and then on to even better things.
"Bruce is going to be fantastic and will be a player talked about forever. We are talking about someone who is going to roll off the tongue in the same way that people talk now about Harry Kewell and Mark Viduka."
Aloisi believes another Socceroo hero should be persuaded to step into the Olympic arena. Danny Vukovic's FIFA ban has killed his Olympic dream and Mark Schwarzer has been reluctant to say whether he would step in if asked.
Aloisi said: "I think it would be fantastic to have the experience of a Mark Schwarzer in the Olympic team and for me it would be a great move. Whether it happens, I'm not sure."
