Goalkeeper Liam Reddy was controversially sent off for bringing down Jaushua Sotirio on the edge of the box and, with all three subs already made, Djulbic took the jersey for the final minutes of the game.

The 35-year-old quickly set about organising his wall, but Marcelo Carrusca's resulting free kick failed to test the centre back who racked up another first in a professional career spanning 17 years.

"I’ve got confidence playing anywhere," Djulbic told Fox Sports post-match. "I’ve played in China as a striker and a winger, so there you go.

"I thought I was going to get a Man of the Match performance for not conceding but obviously not.

"Someone put his hand up, it was me. I thought Carrusca was going to shoot better so I could get my hand to it but it didn’t happen.

Sotorio latched onto a sublime through-ball before clashing with Reddy.

Replays revealed the Wanderers forward trod on the outstretched leg of the keeper, dividing pundits on whether the send-off was warranted.

Reddy was far from happy, engaging in some push and shove with Wanderers defender Michael Thwaite on his way off the pitch.

Mark Bridge opened the scoring for Wanderers on 10 minutes before Xavi Torres equalised from the penalty spot three minutes later. But with both sides fighting for their top six lives, a low-quality draw fell short far short of the target.

The result leaves Wanderers in sixth spot and Glory four points adrift - the latter with four of the final five games at home.

Djulbic added: "It’s a point – I thought we could have got more but at the end of the day it was a fair result.

"We wanted to win you know. We came to get the three points which unfortunately didn’t happen.

"But we’ll build on this, and next week we have the Mariners and hopefully we’ll get three points at home."
