Dodd had a fitness test on his left calf on Monday, got through a long training session on Tuesday and has deemed himself fit and ready to play the club's arch rival.

"I'm available. The team has come off a good win and obviously we have to make a change through Fabian (Barbiero) with his suspension but I'm 100 percent and ready for selection," Dodd said.

"We need everyone to be leaders on Saturday night and if I can be part of that, that's great but we need to get the win as well."

The 29-year-old missed Rounds 3 and 4 after injuring his right calf and jokingly agreed with journalists he was getting 'old man' injuries but he was hopeful a modified training program would help him get through the rest of the year.

"I'm doing injury prevention in the gym and looking at that a bit more. Getting a bit older I guess you do need to look after yourself a bit better so that's something I need to look at," he said.

It's been a mixed season for the Reds skipper who has played some good football but has been frustrated by the injuries and his lack of finishing in attack. The midfielder is keen to turn that around and help the team build some winning momentum.

"It's been a barren spell for me, only one (goal) for the year which I'm pretty disappointed with especially with the opportunities I've had. It's just a matter of keep working at it, getting into those scoring opportunities and eventually they'll come," he said.

"We have a good week one week and then we aren't able to back it up, that's what we have to focus on this week, to get consecutive wins and start moving ourselves up the table."

Meanwhile, Dodd expects strikers Cristiano and Mathew Leckie to continue their attacking roles this week after the duo combined well up front against the Sky Blues.

"Both those guys played a fantastic game, especially Mathew Leckie in his first start in the A-League, it lasted 85 minutes and he was fantastic for the full time," he said.

"I think he thoroughly deserves to back up again this week and hopefully if he does he can do well."
