FRANCE coach Raymond Domenech has resisted the temptation to recall David Trezeguet for the double-header against Morocco and Ukraine later this month.
Juventus striker Trezeguet is the top scorer in Italy's Serie A this season with 10 goals.
But he failed to make it into Domenech's 24-man squad for the friendly against Morocco next Friday and the crunch Euro 2008 qualifier against the Ukrainians on November 21.
Domenech has picked Thierry Henry, Karim Benzema and Nicolas Anelka as his three out-and-out strikers, with the Les Bleus coach confident Anelka will recover from his hamstring strain in time to feature.
Lyon midfielder Jeremy Toulalan is currently struggling with a thigh injury, but he is nevertheless included in the party.
Captain Patrick Vieira misses out because of a leg injury, but fellow midfielders Samir Nasri, Jerome Rothen and Lassana Diarra all make it.
With Lyon goalkeeper Gregory Coupet still out with knee trouble, Mickael Landreau is again expected to step in while in defence, Les Gones centre-back Sebastien Squillaci is recalled.
France will use the Morocco game as a warm-up match ahead of the vital qualifier in Kiev.
Les Bleus top Group B by one point from Scotland and two points from Italy, who have a game in hand.
If world champions Italy beat Scotland at Hampden Park next Saturday, France will qualify automatically for the Euros.
Otherwise, Les Bleus need at least a point in Kiev to make next summer's tournament in Austria and Switzerland, with the Italians expected to comfortably beat the Faroe Islands in their last group match.
On the 30-year-old Trezeguet's continued exclusion, Domenech said: "He is still in competition with others.
"But he has made a great start to the season with Juventus and I hope he is going to continue that way.
"I also hope he will be champion with his club and that he will be with us at the Euros."
