FRANCE coach Raymond Domenech has warned his Les Bleus players that if they are not fit for a training camp on May 18 they will be ruled out of World Cup contention.
Domenech is due to take his players to Tignes for the week-long camp a week after he names a provisional 23-man squad for the finals in South Africa.
But with FIFA's deadline for squad announcements not scheduled until June 10 - a day before the tournament gets under way - there would still be plenty of time for Domenech to make changes.
And he is determined not to carry any passengers as the French attempt to win back the crown they last claimed in 1998.
He told L'Equipe: "It is clear that a player who will not be in a position to play by May 18 will not come to the World Cup.
"I will not ask them to have played matches, only to be able to play and prepare."
The biggest question mark currently surrounds Arsenal central defender William Gallas who pulled a calf muscle in the first leg of the Gunners' Champions League quarter-final against Barcelona on Wednesday night.
