Melbourne Victory defender, James Donachie, says he empathises with the frustrations of fans this season.
Victory fell 2-1 to Brisbane Roar on Friday night and pressure is now mounting on coach Kevin Muscat.
Donachie played his third game in a row, returning from a quad injury he sustained in Round 2, and concedes he has felt helpless watching his team from the sidelines.
“Powerless is probably a good word, there are good and bad times and it’s good to see when they’re playing well when you’re out, but when things aren’t going our way, you can’t get out there,” Donachie told FourFourTwo post-match.
“We’ve got to keep our heads up and keep going otherwise things get worse and it’ll happen every weekend.
“From a fans’ view, it’s understandable. We’re at the club every day trying to make things better, so I can relate to what they’re feeling.”

Victory have lost eight times this season and will now have a cluster of games to focus on when their Asian Champions League campaign kicks off on Tuesday night against Ulsan Hyundai.
Goals from Massimo Maccarone in the seventh minute and Brett Holman before the half-hour mark helped Brisbane over the line.
A screamer from James Troisi gave Victory a sniff, but Donachie said they needed to stop contributing to their own downfall.
“I think they just had two chances and got two goals, you take them and you take the points,” he said.
“We just have to stop giving our opponents chances.
“We tried to crawl back and it was a rough start. We just didn’t start well in the first-half. We started poorly and then tried to climb a mountain going 2-0 down and Jimmy had a great goal to pull one back, but we couldn’t get another one, so it’s on us.”
