Lee McCulloch was thrilled with the start to his Rangers career after he scored two goals in a 4-2 victory over SV Lippstadt.
The former Wigan forward, who moved to Ibrox for £2.25million earlier this week, scored two second-half goals to seal the win over the German amateurs who had twice pegged their Scottish visitors back.
McCulloch said: "I am very pleased with the game, it was a good thing. I was pleased with my pitch position, it can only be good."
In a game played in searing heat, the forward spurned two chances before Filip Sebo put Rangers ahead with a cool finish in the 11th minute but their lead was short-lived as Mirsad Gutic drew the hosts level.
However, the Gers went back in front when Nacho Novo converted a penalty after being fouled in the box.
But Gutic again drew the Germans level as the teams went in 2-2 at the break.
Lippstadt keeper Milos Mandic denied Sasa Papic his first Rangers goal but McCulloch then netted his maiden strike in the 58th minute.
The 29-year-old burst through and shot smartly although Mandic could possibly have prevented the goal.
Libor Sionko hit the post with a header before McCulloch's volley was deflected narrowly wide but the new boy would not be denied his second goal, powering in a header from Novo's corner.
John Fleck was then handed his debut to become the first 15-year-old to play for the Gers first team since Derek Ferguson.
Assistant manager Ally McCoist paid tribute to him and Andrew Shinnie, who turns 18 later this week and came on in the second half.
McCoist said: "John Fleck made his debut, he is a great prospect, this is common knowledge. It is important to encourage the young lads. They had a magic season last year with the League and Cup double. That he played gives him a boost, and Shinnie too.
"It also gives the other youngsters a boost. I am definitely happy with the stage the boys are at at the moment.
"They work really, really hard. We do not rush them, we give them plenty of time. If they do well, they will play at a certain stage."
