Didier Drogba has endorsed returning manager Jose Mourinho as the right man to lead Chelsea back to the top of the Premier League tree.
Drogba, who currently plays for Turkish giants Galatasaray but made his name with Chelsea, was one of Mourinho's first signings in the Portuguese manager's first stint at Stamford Bridge in 2004.
The 35-year-old striker is convinced Mourinho and Chelsea is a 'good combination'.
"It's good for the club and it's a big challenge for him and for the club as well, but he's a great manager, with amazing players, like I said before," Drogba said.
"Normally it's a good combination."
Drogba started for Galatasary in their 1-0 win over Porto in the Emirates Cup in London on Saturday.
The Ivorian forward, who won three Premier League titles with Chelsea, will keep a close eye on the London club's progress this season.
"This is Chelsea and they always try to win titles or they are always in the last four or three to win titles," Drogba said.
"It's a habit, it's a good habit.
"I think you have to give credit to what they did last year, they had a long season, they played a lot of games.
"This season is going to be different, so let's see what they can do. I will follow them from afar."
