Ronaldo may have clinched the Premiership and both the PFA and Football Writers awards, but it was the Ivorian who ended the season on top of the Actim charts, leapfrogging his rival on the final week of the season.

The former Marseille striker finished 11 points ahead of the fleet-footed 22-year-old on 628, scoring the equaliser against Everton along the way to 17 claiming points.

Ronaldo's chances of retaining pole position were hampered by Sir Alex Ferguson's decision to put him on the bench in Sunday's 1-0 home defeat to West Ham, with the midfielder picking up just six points for his appearance as a second-half substitute.

But he did finish the season with a higher average match score (19) than Drogba (18), who played 194 minutes more than the Blues striker.

An honourable mention should go to Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov, whose late surge clinched third place in the standings.

The Bulgarian scored 12 league goals to help fire Martin Jol's side back into the UEFA Cup and picked up 32 points on the final weekend in the 2-1 win over Manchester City.

Another player amongst the goals on Sunday was Mark Viduka. The Middlesbrough striker struck twice in the 3-1 victory over Fulham, posting the biggest score of the week (48) in what could be his last game for the club.

Portsmouth keeper David James, the Premiership's record clean sheets holder, added another accolade to his CV, securing his place in the Actim Team of the Season with 489 points.

Actim Team of the Season: David James(Portsmouth, 489 points); Steve Finnan (Liverpool, 469), Ricardo Carvalho (Chelsea, 463), Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United, 461), Phil Neville (Everton, 454); Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United, 617), Frank Lampard(Chelsea, 572), Mikel Arteta (Everton, 567) Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal, 565); Didier Drogba (Chelsea, 628), Dimitar Berbatov (Tottenham, 611).
