MARK Viduka is expected to land back in Australia next week to seek the help of a specialist to end his achilles injury agony.
The V-Bomber has yet to feature for the Magpies this season after picking up the problem towards the end of last season.
Surgery was not required but a period of rest has not fixed the problem and now Newcastle look likely to seek outside assistance.
Earlier this week, the club admitted it had no idea just when the striker would be ready to resume action and reports in the north east now suggest that an Australian solution will be sought.
Viduka will no doubt take encouragement from the fact that fellow Socceroo Tim Cahill followed the same path after being sidelined for a long spell with a foot injury.
Cahill returned Down Under during the English off season and his treatment helped him make a successful comeback with the Merseysiders.
Viduka's return home might also open up the chance of a further discussion with Pim Verbeek over his international future.
