Holland coach Marco van Basten insists he will not bow to player pressure when it comes to choosing which formation to use for Wednesday's trip to Belarus.
Van Basten opted to listen to his players and deployed just Danny Koevermans and Ruud van Nistelrooy rather than his usual three-pronged attack in the 1-0 win over Luxembourg on Saturday.
That win secured Holland's place in Euro 2008, but the performance was far from convincing and Van Basten is not afraid to go against his players' wishes against Belarus.
"The players have informed me that they like to play with two strikers," said Van Basten.
"But how we play depends on who our opponents are. We must try to find a compromise between what we think is the best solution and what the players want."
Despite being widely criticised for a stuttering performance against Luxembourg, Van Basten insists the Oranje have shown plenty of potential in this qualifying campaign.
"We have a lot of attacking qualities, but they are all young guys," he added.
"You notice that they almost always have a lack of physical power in the final stages of games. We must work on that, because you will get into trouble against bigger opponents."
Holland are second in Group G, level on points with Romania and will need to better the Romanians' result against Albania if they are to secure top spot.
Although it is unlikely that Romania will slip up, Van Basten is still keen for his side to finish their qualifying campaign on a high.
"We travel to Belarus with one thing in mind and that is winning the game. We want to end the qualifying series in style," he added.
Real Madrid striker Van Nistelrooy is out with a hamstring injury, which means that Klaas Jan Huntelaar is expected to return after being left out against Luxembourg.
Goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar and Clarence Seedorf have returned to Manchester United and AC Milan respectively under an agreement their clubs have with the KNVB that they only play in games that have something at stake.
Second-bottom Belarus are just playing for pride as they look to build on their 4-2 win in Albania at the weekend.
Vitali Kutuzov marked his return to the squad with two goals against Albania and is set to feature once again with Arsenal's Alexander Hleb orchestrating from midfield.
