Blaise N'Kufo was the hero for Twente when he grabbed a dramatic late equaliser to earn his side a point and extend their unbeaten run to nine games.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar had given Ajax a first-half lead but Stein Huysegems pulled one back for Twente in the 61st minute.

Huntelaar then grabbed a second for the hosts but N'Kufo`s popped up with a 92nd-minute leveller.

Cheikh Tiote scored the only goal of the game as Roda JC kept in touch with the front runners with a 1-0 win over 10-man Heerenveen in Kerkrade.

Robin Nelisse bagged his 10th goal of the season as FC Utrecht got back to winning ways with a four-goal demolition of Excelsior at Stadion Galgenwaard.

Willem van Hanegem's side lost for the second time in three games last weekend when PSV Eindhoven ran riot in a 4-1 win, but Nelisse helped banish memories of that defeat with a ninth-minute opener against Excelsior.

PSV Eindhoven had been top of the pile but they suffered a 2-1 away defeat to FC Groningen.

Eduardo Alcides had given the defending champions the lead in the first half but second-half strikes from Rasmus Lindgren and Marcus Berg gave Ron Jans` side victory.

Elsewhere on Wednesday strugglers NEC Nijmegen and VVV Venlo played out a 2-2 draw, while De Graafschap`s clash with AZ Alkmaar was postponed because of an unplayable pitch at the De Vijverberg.
