Dadi says he may have played against the man who would have been most likely to mark him had he been fit for the game – currently crocked Sydney FC captain Tony Popovic.

"Possibly I did play against Tony Popovic when I was playing in England," the former Tranmere Rovers, Forest and Notts Country favourite told au.fourfourtwo.com.

"We have both been around and we are around the same age so it will be nice and we will try to get the three points.

"I don't know too much else about them but I've been told they have a good squad."

Dadi, 35, joined Perth last November but a deal was scuppered when his then-Israeli club failed to release him. That bump was ironed out and he joined admirer David Mitchell in the off-season.

However, while training in the WA capital last year, he met one of John Kosmina's off-season signings Simon Colosimo.

"He was a nice guy. And he lead the team well," recalled Dadi. Colosimo islikely to police Dadi, particularly if he drops off like he did last week against the Jets.

"It will be a tough game not only for him and me but a battle for everyone," said Dadi.

Dadi oozes Gallic charm ("I have lived in the Ivory Coast one-and-a-half months since I left [aged] nine years, so I am French") and his confidence has been boosted by a bullet header on home debut last week against the Jets.

The journeyman, who's spent six seasons playing in the UK (he also played at Livingston and Aberdeen), attributes this as the reason why he's feeling right at home on A-League pitches.

"I'm a French-Englishman," he said with a smile.

Dadi may thank his lucky stars he has Amaral to provide the ammunition, but Sydney FC has its own cult-hero in the making in set piece demon Shannon Cole.

Dadi saw his Gosford winner last week: "Shannon Cole was a nice goal. They have some good players there who can play the ball and we are expecting a very difficult game."

Sydney FC officials are hoping Cole's lustre and the potential return (albeit on the bench) of marquee signing John Aloisi will provide the club with a bumper Sunday afternoon crowd after a somewhat disappointing 16,000 plus turnout for round one and Melbourne Victory.

"There's no doubt that Shannon has created a lot of excitement and we're hoping that fans will turn up to see him perform. The team's playing well and with John [Aloisi] potentially back, this is a wonderful time to see the team," spruiked club CEO Stefan Kamasz.

Dadi shares his confidence that this will be entertaining fare with both sides going for the three points.

"We are confident too and it will be an open game and the fans will enjoy watching the game," added Dadi.

And despite the SFS being close to Paddington's fashionable Oxford St, Dadi says his love of fashion won't get in the way of Glory's bid for its first win this season.

"Of course I love fashion," said Dadi, the owner of Huge.n, a fashion label he runs with his French girlfriend, singer Joana Varela Da Veiga.

"But I have not time for that in Sydney. I'm there for football first."
