Edds swapped MK Dons for Tranmere Rovers during the English close season and his first taste of action for his new club will come against the Anfield giants this weekend.

Liverpool are expected to include a number of their big stars for the game which is a 15,000 sell-out at Prenton Park.

The last of the 15,000 tickets for the game was snapped up yesterday.

The match is also being broadcast live on satellite television as both teams continue preparations for the new season.

Tranmere defender Ben Chorley is looking forward to the match and is just as happy to see Edds, his former MK Dons colleague, in contention too.

He told Tranmere's official website: "Eddsy is a good lad. He's quite quiet and a good professional. I could describe him as Mr Consistent.

"He very rarely puts a foot wrong and he'll score some spectacular goals as he's got a great strike from both feet. He's a good addition to the squad."
