Ryan Edwards has backed up a breakout season with Partick Thistle by signing a contract extension with the Scottish Premiership side.
The deal will see the Australian youth international stick with the Jags for another two seasons until the end of the 2018/2019 campaign.
Olyroos duty disrupted the 23-year-old midfielder’s start to life at Thistle but last season he was a mainstay of Alan Archibald’s squad, picking up several player of the month awards.
Edwards played every premiership fixture helping the side to a sixth place finish.
His strong run of form in the red and yellow jersey has made the former Reading and Perth Glory player a fan favourite at Firhill and the feeling is mutual.
“I’m obviously delighted to sign a contract – it was a really easy decision,” Edwards told Jagzone TV.
“The club have been great for me since day on since I joined the club and made my time on and off the pitch really easy going and enjoyable.”
Really happy to be continuing my journey here with @ThistleTweet for the next two seasons. Loved my time here so far! #wearethistle pic.twitter.com/5pNlWHKKPo
