A 1-1 draw at home to Adelaide United in front of 16,707 spectators at nib Stadium was enough to pip Sydney FC to that all important sixth spot on the ladder.

"The goal is to play as many games as possible this season," said Edwards afterwards when asked about his target for the rest of the campaign.
 
"I thought that we could make the finals and we've beaten most of the teams in the top six or so.
 
"We don't hold any fears, we respect them because there's some very good teams and very well coached teams in this competition but we’re a very, very good team."
 
Adrian Zahra gave Glory the lead on 58 minutes but they were pegged back late on by Jake Barker-Daish, setting up a 'backs to the wall' final few minutes.
 
"It was a bit nervy I must admit when they get a free kick with a few seconds to go and again, Danny Vukovic does what he does best and keeps the ball out of the net," said Edwards.
 
With Shane Smeltz, Chris Harold and Travis Dodd all absent through injury, Dean Heffernan was the surprise choice to lead the line up front for the home side.
 
The Glory boss revealed that the decision was based on some time Heffernan spent playing up front in his NSL days.
 
"I was actually thinking about playing Heff on the left and playing Ryo [Nagai] in the middle but then I sat down and talked to him and he wanted to play as a number nine," Edwards said.
 
"He thought that the way that we play and with the structure we’ve got he could do a very, very good job."
 
Edwards, whose position as manager for the next three years was confirmed last week, is pleased with how the side has developed having sat bottom of the ladder just a couple of months ago.
 
The most likely scenario for Week 1 of the finals will see Glory travel to Melbourne to take on Victory this coming Friday.
 
"We've got a bit of momentum going forward, there's a bit of a swagger about the way the boys are playing at the moment, they're playing with a smile on their face so why not?" said Edwards of their chances of going all the way.
 
"We're going to be out there giving it our best shot."
