Elfsborg remain at the top of the Swedish Allsvenskan following a 3-0 win over foot-of-the-table Brommapojkarna on Tuesday.
Stefan Ishizaki scored the opener after 10 minutes with James Keene doubling the lead just before the interval.
The win was sealed nine minutes from time by substitute Daniel Alexandersson, with Elfsborg maintaining their three-point cushion over Kalmar who were 2-1 winners at Malmo.
The visitors took a 10th-minute lead through Arthur Sorin, but Malmo hit back three minutes before the interval with an Yksel Osmanovski strike.
Ari Ferreira had the final say for Kalmar though, finding the net in the 73rd minute to move the side three points and four places above their opponents.
