Two-time Socceroos striker Eli Babalj made his debut for new club Mlada Boleslav overnight in a 1-0 loss to Sparta Prague in the Czech First Division.
The 25-year-old was a 74th minute substitute as Mlada Boleslav chased a late goal.
Babalj was only unveiled as a Mlada Boleslav player over the weekend after a two-week trial with the Czech club.
The Sarajevo-born forward had endured five difficult years since leaving Melbourne Heart for Red Star Belgrade in 2012 and is likely to revive his career.
Babalj's former Heart teammate Golgol Mebrahtu wasn't in the matchday squad despite scoring three goals already this season.
Mlada Boleslav, who finished fourth in 2016-17, are without a point after two games in the Czech First Division.
Elsewhere overnight, Mustafa Amini put in a full shift as AGF lost 3-0 to SonderjyskE in the Danish Superliga.
