Brett Emerton is the latest to warn that conditions will be a key factor in dictating how the Socceroos play.
The team has taken part in their first training session at the Rajamangala stadium in Bangkok yesterday morning.
Emerton insists that though the players will try their best to play "sexy football" wherever possible, the hot and humid conditions of Thailand could force them to adapt their playing style.
"We will try and play some sexy football but the conditions are very hot and we have to be smart about the way we play the game and play sexy football at the right time," he said.
"We think every team in this tournament, not just in our group, are very strong and playing in the Asian Cup is something new for the Australian team.
"We are taking every single game very seriously and I am sure that each and every team we come up against will be very tough and we will have to do our best to win these games."
All eyes are on the Socceroos with expectations high for their debut in the tournament following an impressive run in the 2006 World Cup.
But Emerton insists it will not be easy and warned there are plenty of strong teams that will be standing in Australia's way to the final.
The 28-year-old was at the Nike Sports Revolution store at the Siam Center in Bangkok on Thursday alongside team-mate Mark Bresciano to meet fans.
And he added: "It's a new experience for us going into this tournament as the favourites.
"There is a lot of expectation from the Australian public which is a first for us.
"Hopefully we can go all the way but I am sure each and every team that enters this tournament will want to win it.
"Like I said it is going to be tough so at the moment we will take one game at the time and hopefully we will be good enough to win it.
"We will have to be at our very best."
Meanwhile, Emerton has targeted a UEFA Cup spot this season with Blackburn after they failed to secure a place in the top six last season.
Rovers were 10th in the English Premier League with 52 points, 11 less than they managed the season before when they earned themselves a place in Europe with a sixth-placed finish.
Emerton said: "I think the realistic expectations for Blackburn is a top six finish which will give us a UEFA Cup spot, we achieved that two years ago and we would like to do it again."
