Prior to the World Cup, there was speculation Emerton could leave Rovers and join up with Aussie teammates Harry Kewell and Lucas Neill at Galatasaray.

Not so says the player.

''I'm sick of speaking about it,'' he told The Sun-Herald.

''It was only speculation. It was a rumour started in the media, and it snowballed. I was disappointed by it and I let the journalist who started it know how I felt. I would love for the speculation to be put to rest. I have two years left on my contract and I intend to finish there.''

Emerton is just focused on enjoying the Sydney experience in the coming days.

''It is great to get the chance to play for Blackburn in front of my family and friends. I've played at Blackburn for seven years and to play for them in Sydney is something I'm looking forward to," he added.
