BRETT Emerton is set to put injury problems behind him for the Premier League big kick-off as he urges colleagues to remain at Blackburn Rovers.
Former boss Mark Hughes and players Brad Friedel and David Bentley have moved on and Emerton doesn't want to see anyone else heading for the exit.
The Socceroo told BBC Radio Lancashire: "It's very important we keep everyone," said Emerton. "We've built up a good squad over the last few seasons."
Roque Santa Cruz and Stephen Warnock have both been linked with moves as well but Emerton says the players aren't worried.
"We're all experienced enough not to let that sort of thing bother us.
"You hear it year in, year out, so I'm not sure it bothers too many people in the squad," he said.
Emerton has missed several weeks of Rovers' pre-season with a toe injury but is likely to make the squad for the first game with Everton.
"I haven't trained in almost three weeks now so it's a little bit disappointing going in to the new season," he said..
"It's important that I be part of that first XI on Saturday, but, if not I'll have to give it another week and look forward to the following weekend."
