England coach Fabio Capello`s plans for the friendly against Germany in Berlin on Wednesday have been hit by a number of withdrawals.
Here we look at the players who have pulled out or who are set to pull out.
OUT
Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)
The forward was ruled out with a calf injury even before Capello announced his squad, having been left out of United`s team to play Stoke on Saturday.
Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United)
Ferdinand also missed Saturday`s match with a back problem, also precluding him from selection.
Joe Hart (Manchester City)
The England Under-21 goalkeeper was all set for his chance in the senior side only to injure an ankle in City`s 2-2 draw at Hull on Sunday, ruling him out for three weeks.
DOUBTS
Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)
Liverpool yesterday announced Gerrard, despite playing 90 minutes against Bolton on Saturday, had withdrawn from the squad with a groin injury which would keep him out for seven to 10 days. Capello was not convinced and ordered the midfielder down to the squad`s headquarters for further assessment.
John Terry (Chelsea)
A foot injury forced the England captain off five minutes before the end of Saturday`s win at West Brom. He too is being assessed by England`s medical staff.
