Allegations involving John Terry and Wayne Bridge's ex-girlfriend led to Capello stripping the Chelsea defender of the England captaincy, while Ashley Cole's separation from pop star Cheryl Cole has also been front-page news.

Capello is a strict disciplinarian and will repeat to his squad how he expects them to behave when they meet up ahead of next week's friendly against Egypt at Wembley.

The Italian, who admitted it was concerning for him to see the private lives of his players in the news, said: "The players have to understand what I want if you want to stay with me.

"It will be very important because we need to create a group. The England shirt is very important. This will be one of the most important points we will speak about."

Terry and Bridge, former team-mates at Stamford Bridge, are expected to be named in the squad for the Egypt clash and Capello feels there will be no negative effect on his preparations for the World Cup in South Africa this summer.

However, he is acutely aware how important morale among his squad is.

"The World Cup is really important for me, for England and for the players," he said.

"We have to stay together and be compact in every moment. I think this will be my most important job, to recreate this spirit.

"After four months we will meet the players next week and it will be a very important game for many reasons. One is also this (situation).

"We will talk about a lot of things because four months is a long time. If you can meet the players every month it is different. We will have two days to stay together but they are very strong days."

Cole is sidelined with an ankle injury but Capello is confident his first-choice left-back will be fit for South Africa and that Bridge can deputise until then.

"I spoke with (Chelsea manager) Carlo Ancelotti and our doctors spoke with Chelsea's doctors," Capello said. "We hope he will be fit in two months, more or less, and I think he will be ready for the World Cup.

"Wayne Bridge? Why not? He is a left-back. Cole and Bridge are the best left-backs."

There had been suggestions Bridge was considering his international future, but Capello added: "No, he will be with us. No problems about the other things."

Capello has been in South Africa to attend a coaches summit with FIFA and he also inspected England's potential training base.

FIFA have yet to confirm the bases for the 32 teams but Capello has declared himself happy with the progress at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Campus site in the north west of the country, even though construction is not completed.

"I'm really happy," he said. "We checked everything and it improved a lot from the last time we stayed here.

"The pitches are good and will be better for June. The pitches and the centre we choose will be very important for us.

"The hotel is really, really nice and the medical centre will be ready in two months. I'm really, really happy because it's the third time I've stayed here and the facilities are fantastic.

"We visited four different places and this was the best. We have to sign but we are ready for the signing of the contract."

FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke insisted the facilities will be ready on time.

He said: "The rooms are there, there is a welcome desk where you can pay, a breakfast area where you can eat. There was a television and internet in the room.

"Beside it there is the 3,000 square metres for the King's Suite. This is under construction but this will not be used during the World Cup.

"At the time of the World Cup the FA need the 68 rooms, the medical centre and pitches. There are two which are being worked on by an Irish company who are experts in grass.

"We have been told the medical centre will be built on time."
