The 28-year old Reid is a free agent after leaving Plymouth Argyle at the end of the 2015-16 season by mutual consent.

FourFourTwo understands a few A-League sides, including Newcastle Jets, have been approached by Reid’s representatives.

Reid started his career with Plymouth in 2005 and has spent time on loan at Kidderminster, Rochdale, Torquay United, Wycombe Wanderers and Brentford.

He joined Rotheram United in 2008 and then signed for West Bromwich Albion in 2009, again going out on loan to the likes of Peterborough United and Walsall.

Reid then had a season with Oldham Athletic and one with Yeovil Town, before joining the Pilgrims in 2014.

The English striker has scored 95 goals from 359 career appearances.

Reid has been linked to a move to Southend United for the 2016-17 season.
