Wigan beat Sunderland 2-1 thanks to a last-gasp goal by Franco Di Santo. Jordi Gomez's penalty had put Wigan level after the Black Cats had taken the lead through Sebastian Larsson's close-range strike.

Wigan levelled when Victor Moses earned a controversial penalty after he was brought down by Larsson and Gomez powerfully converted before Di Santo snatched a much-needed win for Wigan in injury time.

Wanderers defender David Wheater was sent off for a studs-up foul on Diniyar Bilyaletdinov after 20 minutes and Everton finally made their one-man advantage pay Fellaini blasted high into the centre of goal before Vellios added the second in the 78th minute.

Norwich beat QPR 2-1 at Carrow Road after Luke Young cancelled out Russell Martin's opener before Grant Holt sealed the win.

Martin handed the Canaries the lead after a mistake from defender Anton Ferdinand allowed the defender to strike home from close range before Young levelled in the 59th minute. Substitute striker Holt then latched on to Wesley Hoolahan's cross to secure all three points.

Arsenal's Thomas Vermaelen scored a goal at both ends as the Gunners drew 1-1 with Fulham at the Emirates.

The defender slid the ball into his own net after a challenge on John Arne Riise, who was about to pull the trigger after he chested down Danny Murphy's ball into the box.

However, Vermaelen atoned for his error and salvaged a point for his side when he headed home from Theo Walcott's cross in the 82nd minute.
