Ajax's 2-0 win over NAC Breda yesterday had put pressure on Ronald Koeman's side and saw the Amsterdammers take a one-point lead at the summit.

But PSV ended a four-game winless streak courtesy of Peru international Farfan.

The result was never in doubt after the forward's brace in the opening 20 minutes and PSV cruised to an easy victory which puts them two points clear of Ajax.

At the other end of the table, ADO's unfortunately characteristic 2-0 defeat at home to Roda finally confirmed their relegation.

Second-half goals from Davy de Fauw and Marcel Meeuwis - the latter from the penalty spot - were enough to earn Roda the spoils at the Zuiderpark, with ADO tumbling out of the top flight after RKC Waalwijk also beat Excelsior.

RKC's 3-0 win boosted their own survival hopes.

Tim Janssen fired a second-half hat-trick to stun the hosts, who are also perilously close to the relegation play-off places.
