NAC began the day a point behind leaders FC Groningen, who clinched a 3-0 win against Sparta Rotterdam on Saturday.

Danko Lazovic grabbed a second for PSV with 11 minutes remaining, but Roda held on.

Marcus Berg settled the contest with a third in the 34th minute.

AZ Alkmaar stretched their winning run to five as they made light work of bottom club FC Volendam.

Maarten Martens made it 1-0 after 15 minutes and that is how the scoreline remained until midway through the second half.

Mounir El Hamdaoui finally double the hosts' tally with 14 minutes remaining, before Martens completed the scoring six minutes later.

Elsewhere, Willem II fought back from a goal down to secure a 1-1 draw against De Graafschap.

Jason Oost put the visitors in front before wasting a chance to extend his side's lead when he saw his penalty saved by Maikel Aerts.

Willem's Frank Demouge then saw his spot-kick saved by Erik Heijblok, but the 26-year-old redeemed himself by grabbing the equaliser for the hosts midway through the second half.

Friday evening's game saw Heracles Almelo beat ADO Den Haag 3-1.
