Ronaldinho has rarely been out of the spotlight this season with media focus regularly shifting between his weight, his fitness, his form, his private life and his future at the Nou Camp.

Most recently, the former FIFA World Player of the Year has hit the headlines after complaining of a thigh injury that subsequent scans showed no evidence of.

The 27-year-old Ronaldinho was also back in the news on Wednesday after returning to squad training having missed Barca's last five matches, but Eto'o believes it is time the Brazil international is given some breathing space.

"There is no need to look for whether or not he will leave. He needs to be left in peace," Eto'o said in Marca.

"Everybody talks and writes about him, but nobody waits to hear what he has to say and what his opinion is, his truth. When he is available, he will talk.

"If he says that he is hurt, then he is hurt. There are injuries that scans do not pick up."
